A few weekends ago Taner and I and my awesome little cousin Max hit up the Center Grove Orchard. I couldn’t have been more impressed with ALL of the activities there!
It is only a short 20 min jaunt from Des Moines. If you want apple picking, a pumpkin patch, animals, a corn pit, a old time store, tractors to ride, shows, roping horses, a giant slide, hayrack rides…etc this is the place for you. A few photos from our awesome afternoon there below. Also if you haven’t been…GET THERE, so cool.
Telling Dexter he couldn’t come with us, he was one heart broken bulldog!
Max & I posing with the entry sign.
Cool giant corn pit!
Tanner and Max roping the cows!
These goats terrify me.
They have cool 3 little pigs houses! Max loved the brick house the most.
MORE terrifying goats!Tanner and Max checking out the 1st pigs house of straw.
Mad Hatter’s tea party! Unfortunately the cups are drilled to the table.
Backwards through the time tunnel to the school. Pure awesome.
SO many little pumpkins!
Telling Tanner our plan for pumpkin picking.
Apparently this guy is famous in the 10& under crowd. No clue, he seemed cool. Story time in the barn!
We found a kitten in the barn! Max asked if he could take it home…I didn’t think mom and dad would like that much!
The cool mascot photo.
Waiting for the hay rack ride!
Tanner and Max heading out to the pumpkin patch for picking time!
LOTS of pumpkins! So many pumpkins!
Finding just the perfect one, had to be round. No blemishes, no brown spots, and a stem. Also small. It took awhile!
Found the perfect pumpkin! Also this big monster, holy cow. Found pumpkins for little brother & mom and dad too!
The giant jumping pillow. I feel this might be fun if it was warmer. Or if I were 10 again!
Last stop of the afternoon, the giant slide! I think Max was pretty stoked to head down this. He went down twice!
Oh to be little again! I think he had a blast! [:
