M & S were married at a wonderful venue here in Des Moines the Fort Des Moines Museum on Army Post Road.If you are having a smaller private wedding in the Des Moines area it is the ideal location with a rustic twist. These two had so many incredible do it yourself projects I was simply flabbergasted! From the great gray and white twisted straws in the drinks down to the custom made buttons and flower girl wands they really put lots of love and thought into their big day. The bride even embroidered her own wedding dress!
The day started out early in the AM at The Beehive Salon, a local hair salon on just off 35th street. After hair was complete we headed over to the bride’s grandmothers house for makeup and a few portraits of the bride and her bridal party. Her grandmother had a fantastic garden and trees in full bloom that were perfect for detail shots of her shoes and dress. Next we headed off to the wedding venue for family formals where the wedding ceremony and reception took place.
Everything from the small well thought out details to the large laughs shared by all were flawless. Congrats to the bride & groom and we hope you had a fantastic honeymoon this past week!
