Amy + Jon-Michael | Ledges State Park Engagement Photos

On Saturday Tanner and I made the short trek up to Ledges State Park just out of Boone to snap some fun engagement pictures of Amy and Jon-Michael. We have the pleasure of shooting their wedding at the end of  August in Carroll, IA.

At first when Amy approached me about doing an all-nature engagement shoot at a state park we thought might be a bit of a challenge for us without the grungy crazy locations we normally scout out for an e-session but Ledges turned out to be perfect! It did also help that Amy and Jon-Michael were full of laughs and jokes the entire time and that the weather just cooperated perfectly!

The entire park is a one-way drive through with many streams that actually go OVER the road to drive through.  (Odd huh!) I must say I might have had a bit to much fun zooming through them with Phyllis (our H3 Hummer, yes she has a name don’t judge!) and spraying the kids who were all excited to be drenched on the 80 degree day!

The first location we pulled over to shoot at was a cliff located just inside the park.

We can’t wait to shoot your wedding this August! You two are just so much fun and full of love!

Jenn + Chad Engaged | Storm Lake Iowa Engagement Photographers

If your viewing this on facebook head on over to our blog @ https://www.ztsblog.com

Last Saturday we headed out in Storm Lake, IA to shoot some engagement pics for an upcoming wedding this July for Jenn and Chad! Jen went to college with us at Buena Vista University and was really involved in basketball and Chad went to Morningside where he played football. We were all worried it was going to pour the entire day but thankfully it was nice and sunny for most of the shoot and ended up in a rainstorm which we convinced them still to snap a few pictures in the rain. (YAY!)

So we rolled up to the second location we had scouted out and they pulled out some shades for some awesome pics!

Normally we try to find something fun and unique to do with each engagement and wedding ring session and thought it was only fitting to stick it in the stunner shades!

Ahh new 100mm macro lens…you rock! Look at the detail in that. Gorgeous!

There was a great fence nearby too so we snapped a few with the 70-200 and 135L

Next we headed off to Newell, IA where Jenn is from and she had some great locations planned out! This barn was our first stop which we even hiked up the softbox and camera’s into the loft to take some pictures!

Next location the rain clouds rolled in but we headed to some train tracks just out of Newell.

And lastly we shall end with a few rain shots. Of course with one umbrella I hopped in the car and shot a few through the window and let Tanner dare to shoot in the rainstorm!

Can’t wait to shoot your wedding this July! 😀

Kristin + Jason Engaged | Pella Iowa Engagement Photographers

These two are just so much fun! Last Saturday Tanner and I headed off to Pella, IA to snap a few fun engagement pictures for Kristin and Jason whom we are shooting their wedding for at the end of May this year. Pella is just full of awesome places to shoot and a crazy amount of tulips! For those of you who know nothing about Pella they host the annual tulip festival every year so there are tons of amazing colorful spring tulips everywhere..and I do mean EVERYWHERE!

We started off at fun location right off the main square and found this great brick building with great blue doors. After that we took some photos with their fun dogs and then headed to Central Campus and stopped a few spots along the way. Enjoy!
