Backhaus Wedding Video July 16, 2016 | University of Dubuque, Iowa Wedding | Des Moines, Iowa Wedding Videographers

Lindsey & Matt had the most gorgeous wedding day! SERIOUSLY guys I can’t even begin to tell you how awesome it was. July in Iowa can be HOT and I mean HOT and HUMID and they somehow lucked out with honestly probably the best weather we’ve ever had for a wedding. High 70’s, perfect sky, no wind, epic spots for photos and the sweetest couple. Thanks so much for choosing Tanner and I to capture your big day. And Dubuque is BEYOND insane. A photographers dream for photos/video. We had a blast, your family and friends were incredibly kind and can’t wait to finish the photos for a blog soon!

Yes we do video, we ONLY offer video as an add on to photography and it’s pretty rare people book us for both only because they usually book a separate video team (we have lots of great videographer friends that do a bomb job also!). We’ve done video gosh 6-7 times over the last 8 years for weddings (It’s such a fun add on!) and lately it seems video has been more of a rage the last 3-4 years than ever.

Tanner shoots/edits all our video on days we do video and I do all the photos so it’s quite a fun journey to mix it up a bit from the norm! I think he did SUCH a wonderful job, seriously I teared up when he sent me the preview. And he’s got that drone down for video too! He’s got such an eye and talent for mixing the video clips to music, his love of music definitely plays in his ability to edit/create such cool videos.

Sam + Adam June 4th, 2016 Wedding | Rollins Mansion Des Moines | Des Moines Wedding Photographers

Oh my gosh I am officially all caught up!!!! Until 7pm tonight when we have another engagement session, woo! Ha! (Those of you that know how photog life works from May-October we basically are never caught up, ha!)

Holy Rollins Mansion is BEAUTIFUL!

I felt like we were in a Disney movie all day at a princess mansion. Beauty and the Beast flashbacks to childhood. Just the perfect spot for a wedding!

We’ve been looking forward to this one for months and months. What a perfect location here in Des Moines for an outdoor ceremony AND the rare outdoor reception. We have another one here for summer 2017…I’m not sure I can actually wait that long though!

Sam and Adam had a wonderful day, and thank goodness the rain held out, I was so nervous (especially after our crazy rainy Spring of weddings!).

They had the most beautiful outdoor ceremony in the garden area out back followed by the reception on the giant patio deck an dancing in the driveway area complete with perfect string lights for that amazing added pop of light for us.

Thanks so much for including us and as always love working with some of our favorite vendors! Musical Edge (Kyle was actually was the DJ at our wedding) threw one heck of a dance party.

Something Chic as usual did a beyond amazing job with the florals and décor. Gateway Market knocked it out of the park with dinner and Beauty of All Faces was spot on with makeup.

Rollins is just a dream to shoot at. We just can’t wait to return!!! Note to all brides…please get married at a mansion and have your first dance at sunset. We photographers LOVE it!

Scholten Wedding | Downtown Des Moines Embassy Club Wedding | Des Moines, Iowa Wedding Photographer

Megan and Wade had the coolest wedding day planned. We absolutely loved shooting at the Embassy Club downtown, what a VIEW!!! Seriously. So cool to be on the 38th floor at sunset overlooking the Des Moines skyline.

The day started out with rain but they handled it light a champ, Spring 2016 = the year of the rain on wedding days? Ha! They do say it is good luck on your wedding day I suppose!

The girls started by getting ready at Penelopie Beauty Bar for bridal hair and makeup. Post ceremony we headed to Wellman’s Pub on Ingersoll where the couple first meet and hung out when they started dating.

From there we headed to the capital via trolley for some sweet sunset pics and finally off to the Embassy Club downtown for the reception.

Thanks so much for including us, and we always love working with other amazing vendors, Bella Flora Event Design knocked it out of the park with amazing decor and florals and A Special Event DJ always knows how to throw a wonderful dance party!
