New Glass Goodness 16-35L II

Excited to welcome a new member to our glass lineup with the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II! Pretty stoked to have a fast wide zoom that is sharp as a tack. At first when Tanner brought up the idea I was against it saying we should upgrade our Sigma 14mm f/2.8 or purchase a 45mm tilt shift lens. We have now used this on a family shoot, engagement shoot and last weekend at a wedding an I couldn’t be more impressed with the results!

The lens is fast focusing and accurate even in low light. It even preforms well at a short focal length focusing at less than a foot distance which makes it great for wide detail shots and video. Overall it really fits in with our unique shooting style and this baby is amazing on a full frame camera.

End summary = successful addition to our lineup!

Featured Engagement Session Des Moines Wedding Savvy Blog Today!

A few days ago we received an awesome comment on our ZTS Photo Facebook fan page from a local wedding blogger inquiring  if she could share our engagement session we shot last weekend on her blog.  Of course we said yes!

Today some of our images from Elissa and Matt’s session were featured on her blog, The Des Monies Wedding Savvy. Head on over and check it out by clicking here! The blog also features such a wonderful list of local area vendors and ideas for planning your wedding in the Des Moines metro area.

Tanner and I would like to send a big thanks to Rachel from Des Moines Wedding Savvy for the kind words and sharing our photos today.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Photo Data Storage | Iowa Wedding Photographers

Storing and backing up photos is key to any photo business. You never know when a hard-drive might crash. We take no risks in having our data in several mediums and locations for peace of mind.

This weekend we invested in yet another safe guard and system for our 2011 wedding season. We believe strongly in having our files in several locations even after final image delivery to our clients.

Our files are on-line virtually in two separate storage facilities that we can access at the touch of a button. The files are zipped into folders sent to us via-email in a matter of minuets. Various hard-drives and cd’s on location and off are part of our plan as well. Our desktops also back up to a time-capsule wirelessly every few hours.

I must say I was pretty pumped when we went into Best Buy this weekend and Tanner found a 3TB hd for the price we paid for our 2TB’s a few months ago.

This was all on my desk last night organizing and backing things up. Finally time to clean it off! 🙂
