Chelsea and Zach kicked off our crazy fun June of 2011 wedding madness on June 4^th in Forest City, Iowa. Chelsea is Tanner’s first cousin so it is always enjoyable to shoot weddings where we know a majority of the people as well as be there to share in their wedding day with them. They were just splendid clients and we had a great time working and celebrating with them!

Chelsea and her bridesmaids started early in the morning by getting their hair done at the extraordinary Hair Designs Salon in Forest City. Following hair they traveled to the Immanuel Lutheran Church just a short jaunt down the street to finish getting ready and for the ceremony soon after.

Something we just utterly love is when our wedding clients give us plenty of time for relaxed portraits at unique location. Relaxed shots before or after the ceremony for an hour is such a great thing and we really try to have all our couples pad in enough time for us to really capture some great images of them from their wedding day.  Tanner and I found a unbelievable farm just outside of Forest City that ironically the family who owned it was attending the wedding! They of course obliged to letting us shoot there. The symmetrical lines of trees on the farm were just incredible for portraits! The couple photos of Zach and Chelsea on the farm are probably some of the favorite bride & groom portraits we have shot to date.

Post ceremony the wedding party traveled to Shooterz Bar & Grill to celebrate and then off to the elegant wedding reception for food and dancing at the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, Iowa.

As a side note this was the wedding that pushed us over the edge with the 85L II lens purchase decision that it was a necessity for us. Check out some of the sweet photos it produced that day! We also had a 24mm f/3.5 tilt-shift lens from CPS for many of these photos.  Always exciting to try out new gear!
