Growing up in Indianola I just assumed it average to have hot air balloons landing in your backyard daily in the summer. August brought the National Balloon Classic in Indianola every year.
Last night I went out to Fire in the Sky, the Midwest’s largest night-glow extravaganza! I have loved growing up taking pictures at the National Balloon classic and will for years to come.
If your wanting to partake there is another night glow TONIGHT 8/5/10 in Indianola starting at dusk and a balloon flight at 6:30pm. The last day of the balloons is this Saturday August 7th ending with a fantastic fireworks display after the balloon flight. If you haven’t been yet and you are in the Des Moines area GET there. I promise you will love my hometown classic. It is truly a great family event!
A big shout-out to my friend Zack who was crewing this balloon and let me get up close and personal.
My brother Chad and I on the field during the flight.
Holly with her balloon, she’s always out there every year!
Just a few snaps of Night Glow
Hopefully I will get around to editing all the 38GB of photos I snapped last night and I’ll have to make a longer blog post with images. That is after the weddings, seniors & engagement sessions in que are done. 🙂
ALSO!!!! Our neon green Alien Bee 1600 with beauty dish, octabox, umbrella, vagabond II are ON the way. Should be arriving Friday. Yay for new lights!
Happy Thursday!
