Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing Mitch and Molly’s wedding at the Iowa Capital. Sadly we had some CRAZY thunderstorms but thankfully even though they were great sports and got soaked mid ceremony…it cleared long enough for some amazing portraits after!

We started the day getting ready at DesLux Hotel in Downtown Des Moines. Alright to all our brides, please consider getting ready here!

What a BEYOND beautiful location! We made sure since it was raining out to get a few snaps of Molly before departing DesLux and heading to the ceremony location at the Iowa Capital.

If you haven’t been to the Iowa Capital please do! It’s insanely gorgeous. We had a great time taking portraits around all the wonderful rooms and lobby area.

I can’t say enough nice things about the library area, what a stunning room! Picture perfect!

Mitch & Molly had pre approval for their ceremony to be preformed on the capital steps with the best view of Des Moines.

Although it started pouring mid-ceremony they took it like champs. And the photos speak for themselves, you two are just so in love it’s amazing to witness!

Post ceremony (and thunderclaps) we headed around for some gorgeous spring photos. Thankfully all the trees had bloomed literally earlier that week and they couldn’t have timed it better for Spring photos!

I must say I rarely get 3+ hours to take portraits ONLY of couples and I couldn’t be happier with all the images I was able to capture for you two!

It’s rare to see people just so incredibly in love, you two friend and laughed all day. You can tell by the photos just how much they truly care about one another! #bestjobever
